Many would argue over which people in history are significant enough to be considered historical figures or personages.
It is indeed a highly subjective field, and one cannot help but be influenced by one's own geographical location when considering important people from history.
It's also true to some extent, when considering wars and battles, that history is written by the winners - of course some losers in battle have been so notorious that their names will likely never be forgotten.
This website is an attempt to develop a rounded list of historical people, both men and women, from around the world through the ages.
