Alban, Saint |
| Written by historicalpeople.net | |||
The story of St. Alban was first told by Gildas in 560 and later in Bede's History of the English Church and People. According to Bede, Alban was put to death at the Roman town of Verulamium (present-day St. Albans in Hertfordshire) for being a Christian. He was the first person in Britain to die for his faith. His feast day is 22 June.
