| Written by historicalpeople.net | |||
Edvard Grieg studied music at Leipzig in Germany. When he returned to Norway, he made up his mind to write music in a Norwegian style and he learned all he could about old Norwegian songs. Grieg wrote mainly songs and compositions for the piano and small orchestras. His Piano Concerto in A minor and his music for a play by Henrik Ibsen, Peer Gynt, are well known and played throughout the world. See Henry Theophilus Finck Edvard Grieg
