Montezuma II

Montezuma II (about 1480-1520), Emperor of Mexico.

Montezuma II was the emperor of the Aztec empire in Mexico conquered by Hernando Cortez.

He tried to make friends with Cortez but his people did not trust the Spaniards. Montezuma and his people were great warriors, causing a lot of trouble for Cortez, but the alien technology of the invaders, namely guns and cannons, proved too much for them to withstand.

Montezuma's empire was defeated. An Aztec threw a stone at the emperor's palace, it struck Montezuma on the head and killed him.
