Nebuchadnezzar was king of the Babylonian Empire from 604 bc to 562 bc. In that time, he extended the empire by conquering other peoples. In 587 bc, he destroyed the city of Jerusalem and took many Jews to Babylon as prisoners. Nebuchadnezzar made Babylon one of the Finest cities in the ancient world. He built the Hanging Gardens of Babylon which were one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
