Solomon

Solomon (about 980-922 bc), (according to the Hebrew Bible) third King of Ancient Israel.

Solomon, the son of King David became king at the age of about twenty.

His reign of about forty years was the most prosperous and peaceful in the history of Ancient Israel, and he himself was noted for his wisdom.

Solomon built up trade with other nations and he built the Temple in Jerusalem.

It took about eight years to build and cost a vast sum of money.

Foreign visitors travelled to see the wonders of Solomon's kingdom, and these visitors included the Queen of Sheba.
